Balangir: A youth died while another sustained critical injuries after unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked them with sharp weapons in Odisha’s Balangir district late on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Saroj Panigrahi and the injured one is Prem Sahu ,a resident of Sarobarapada, while the injured individual, Prema Sahu, is from Kandhapalipada in the western Odisha town.
According to reports, the incident took place while the youth duo was returning home after watching Sital Sasthi Yatra when the miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons near Nrusingha temple.
Subsequently, both the youths were rushed to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for treatment where Saroj succumbed to his injuries. Sahu is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital and his condition is stated to be critical.
Balangir Town police have initiated an investigation to nab the culprits.
