Odisha Forest Officials rescued 12-feet-long Python from a village in Mayurbhanj
12-foot-long Python rescued by forest department from Dahisahi village under Kaptipada forest range in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
According to information, the snake was crawling towards the village when locals marked it and attempted to stop it from entering their habitation. Frightened at this, the reptile entered into a hole nearby.
Villagers soon called for snake helpline personnel.
Snake helpline member Abhijit Behera along with his team rushed to the village and rescued the snake unhurt. The python was identified to be a female.
Later, Behera and his team released the snake in Similipal forest area.
Locals said pythons are entering human habitations as poaching is rampantly going on in the Similipal forest area.
Around four people were holding 12-feet-long reptile at the rescue spot in Dahisahi village.
