New Delhi : Delhi Police on Wednesday said it has arrested an Inter-state illegal firearms supplier from Minto Road area of Delhi, when he came to deliver the arms. Five pistols and seven live cartridges were recovered from him, said a Police official.
The Delhi Police received specific information that the accused was coming from Mewat to Delhi to deliver the consignment of illegal firearms and ammunition to the criminals of Delhi. Acting on this information, a trap was laid near Minto Road and apprehended him. Two sophisticated .32 bore pistols, three illegal single shot pistols of .315 bore and seven live cartridges were seized.
The accused, identified as Ali Hussain (30), left his study in 10 class and joined his family business of supplying illegal firearms. His father, Haji Musa, is also in jail of Alwar of Rajasthan, said official.
According to police, accused and his father had been supplying illegal fire arms for the last 5-6 years. Hussain used to bring pistols from a gang which operates from Mathura, and supply the arms to the criminal gangs operate from Uttar Pradesh (West), Mewat, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.
