Kendrapada, Sep 24 : Rajnagar Police have apprehended a youth on the charges of attempting to rape a minor girl at Gosigaon Road.
Pattamundai SDO Khyamasagar Panda said the youth Babuji Sethi would be produced before the court on Monday.
Police swung into action after the father of the girl lodged an FIR.
As per the FIR , the accused abducted the girl while she was returning home from the market last night and attempted to rape her at a lonely place.
The local people rushed to the spot and rescued the girl when she screamed for help. They also overpowered the youth and handed him over to police.
