Bhubaneswar: In a significant move aimed at uplifting the educational ecosystem in Odisha, the state government has announced a hike in the remuneration of Gana Sikhyaks who have not cleared the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET). The remuneration for these teachers has been increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000, marking a substantial improvement in their financial prospects.

The proactive approach of the state government in addressing the concerns and aspirations of teachers reflects its commitment to enhancing the quality of education and promoting the welfare of educators.

The implementation of these decisions is expected to benefit a total of 12,113 Gana Sikhyaks across the state, marking a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen the education system and support the teaching community. By recognizing the contributions of Gana Sikhyaks and providing them with improved remuneration and career prospects, the government aims to boost morale and incentivize excellence in teaching.
