Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a son beat his father to death at Bentpada village under Athagarh police station in the district for not providing money to drink alcohol.
The deceased has been identified as Balukenshwar Mohanty while the accused son was identified as Aparti Mohanty.
According to a source, on Saturday late at night, Aparti asked his father for money to drink alcohol. As the deceased did not pay, this morning while the father was picking flowers, Aparti hit him with an iron rod. Balukenshwar died on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the spot and took the accused into their custody. A detailed investigation is underway.
