Mah Assly: Fadnavis Demands Sena MLA’s Suspension For Mimicking PM Modi

Mumbai, Dec 22 : Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday demanded suspension of Shiv Sena MLA Bhaskar Jadhav for mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the first day of Assembly’s Winter session, a verbal duel erupted between BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar and Energy Minister Nitin Raut over the promise of waiving off electricity tariff up to 100 units.

As the duo were engaged in rebutting each other, MLA Jadhav stood up and started imitating Modi, while referring to the Prime Minister’s promises made in 2014.

At this moment, former Chief Minister Fadnavis took strong objection to the legislator’s behaviour and demanded an unconditional apology.

While Deputy Speaker Narhari Zhirwal said he would examine if Jadhav had made any objectionable comment by his words or actions.

Ministers Jayant Patil and Anil Parab said that political leaders should be respected in the legislature.

Defending himself, Jadhav asserted that he didn’t make any comments against the PM, but still he withdraws his mimicking behaviour.

“How can one withdraw the objectionable body language,” questioned Fadnavis.

The episode led to the adjournment of the House for 20 minutes.
