30 years of tireless odyssey of Bhubaneswar based twin institutions have outlived calendar dates

When success comes ones way, nothing succeeds like that. It goes on breaking calendar markings, one target to the other.

That way the journey of the above two remained a dynamic pursuit for last 30 years almost, breaking odds and setting new paths.

Active yet sparsely self-propagated, its Founder Dr. Achyut Samanta has been the unique driver of the three decades long voyage which has surpassed many turbulence.

KIIT started in 1992-93 as an Industrial Training Institution. However, 1997 is considered the base year for the University as undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Management and Computer Applications were added.

Subsequently, the Kalinga Institute of Social Science(KISS) came into being and emerged as a pioneering haven for untold number of tribal boys and girls and also a destination for other backward youths from Odisha and outside the state.
KISS proved itself a milestone for tribal talents honing their inherent skill and strength for larger goals.

Within years the above institution almost outgrew its desired ambits and soon wore the tag of world’s largest rearing hub for the poor section Odisha and India.
From the bottom of KISS thousand boys and girls rose like a phoenix to represent Odisha in myriad fields and specially, it still remains a promontory of sports talents who shot themselves to international spheres.

Where over 30k boys and girls are given free education and stay besides, Dr Samanta playing the harbinger role in fine-tuning them in many ways towards a new morning.

Back to KIIT

In 2007, many new schools were added to its(KIIT) umbrella – School of Law, Biotechnology, Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Mass Communication, Film and Media, Fashion and KIIT International School. Since then, there has been no looking back! Today, KIIT offers professional education to around 40,000 students from across India. This includes 2000 international students from 65 countries. The alumni of KIIT, over a lakh of them, have made their mark in their respective careers in academics, corporate organisations, civil services and enterprise.
