Police arrest youth for throwing ink at Odisha 5T secretary V K Pandian

Puri, Aug 19 : The Satyabadi police on Saturday arrested one Bhasker Sahu of Badala village of Kanas block under the Satyabadi assembly constituency limits for allegedly hurling ink and mud on 5T secretary V K Pandian while he was going to UGC college on Monday.

The incident took place while Pandian was being accorded a warm welcome by people. Suddenly Bhasker Sahu threw ink and mud. It hit Pandian and Puri collector Samarth Verma who was accompanying him.

Police nabbed the youth and detained him. Despite this incident Pandian participated in all his scheduled programmes and returned to Bhubaneswar.

The 5T secretary addressed a gathering at Kakatpur followed by Nimapara and then came to Puri. He addressed mission Shakti volunteers and went to Satyabadi.

Soon after the meeting he came to Puri special circuit house and after some time he left for Bhubaneswar.

Sources said the accused Sahu had unsuccessfully contested in the last panchayat poll as an independent candidate.
