Balasore, Sep 30 : Special Judge POCSO on Saturday convicted a 50 year old man for outraging the modesty of a minor girl and sentenced him to 3 years RI along with a fine of
Rs 1,000 .
The court ruled that in default of paying fine, the convict has to undergo one year jail term more, Special Public Prosecutor Pranab Panda said.
Panda said the convict Bidya Singh of Dingabali village under Remuna police station of Balasore district was arrested in Feb 2021 after the mother of the victim alleged that her daughter was molested by the accused .
The accused was tried under several sections of IPC and 8 of POCSO ACT .
The court after examining 13 witnesses and 10 exhibits awarded the punishment, said Special
Public Prosecutor.
