Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: “Avoid sleazy video chats with strangers on social and keep safe yourselves from “sextortion” or blackmail”. The Odisha Police have warned people to stay away from such media platforms, warning that cyber criminals were recording such chats for defraud valuables.
In a tweet, the police warned that cyber frauds, including women, were targeting potential victims by making video calls from fake accounts. The police advised people not to answer such calls.
The police, which said that victims usually do not report such incidents fearing humiliation, but insisted and assured all possible help to the victims.
