Odisha: Minor girl sustains burn injury inside Sri Jagannath temple

Puri (Odisha), Dec 29 : In a shocking incident on Friday, a minor girl sustained burn injury inside the Sri Jagannath temple here and was shifted to District headquarter hospital for treatment.
According to sources, a family from Hyderabad has gone to the temple for darshan. While they were moving about in the temple the girl’s cloth caught fire from a burning diya.
The accompanying family members doused the fire. She was taken to hospital for burn injury treatment.
In yet another bizarre incident on Friday, a stray dog attacked a two-year-old child in front of the temple gate inside the barricades and left him in a pool of blood.
According to reports, a family from Balugaon was standing within the barricades with their two year old child before entering the temple.
Suddenly a dog attacked the boy and injured his eye. He has been shifted to hospital.
This is not an isolated incident. Residents and devotees are experiencing the menace of stray cattle, simian and bovine attacks since long and their demands have gone unheeded so far.
In 2016 December, stray dogs feasted on a four year old boy while playing at the backyard of his house in Jagannath colony under the Kumbharpada Police Station limits.
