Two arrested, 300 kg marijuana seized

New Delhi, Nov 29: Around 300 kg Marijuana was seized, which was being transported from Odisha hinterlands to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, from two inter-state drugs traffickers, police said on Monday.
Both men, identified as Shazeb Choudhary (23) resident of Old City Bareilly in UP, and Sushil resident of Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, were allegedly involved in drug trafficking. A case under NDPS Act has been registered, said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP, Crime (Narcotics).
The police got information that a huge shipment of marijuana was being transported to be supplied in the Majnu Ka Tila area of North Delhi. Acting on the tip off, a trap was laid near Wazirabad Flyover and intercepted a vehicle during checking, 300 kilograms marijuana hidden under the plastic crates that were used for supply of vegetables and fruits was recovered from the vehicle, said Biswal.
During the interrogation, Choudhary revealed that marijuana was being brought from Odisha and it belongs to one Akram who was following the truck in a private car. Choudhary further disclosed that he was assigned to deliver contraband to some receivers in Majnu Ka Tila in Delhi and thereafter in UP, said Biswal.
During investigation, the above mentioned car was also seized and its owner Sushil was arrested.
