Four held in connection with alleged rape of two women in state-run Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad : Four people were taken into custody by police on Tuesday in connection by with the alleged rape case in the state-run Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.
The arrested included a lab assistant and three security personnel.
A woman had complained to the police on Monday that she was drugged and raped by the lab assistant and confined her to a room for four days.
She also alleged that she and her elder sister were also raped by the friend of the lab assistant.
The whereabouts of the victim’s sister are not known and the police had launched a search operation to locate her.
Based on the complaint of the woman, the Chilkalguda police registered a case and took up investigation.
The clues team also visited the crime spot to collect clues.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Women’s Commission chairperson Sunitha Laxma Reddy visited the hospital on Tuesday and spoke to the Superintendent of the hospital about the incident.
Later, in a chat with reporters, she said that what exactly had happened only the victims can tell, adding that the search was on to trace the victim’s sister.
She said that stern action should be taken against the guilty.
