Panaji: Former Minister Rohan Khaunte joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. He joined the ruling party in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, among others.
Khaunte, who represented Porvorim constituency as an independent candidate twice, had tendered his resignation as an MLA on Thursday.
Khaunte was a minister in the cabinet of Late Manohar Parrikar. He had helped Bharatiya Janata Party form government post 2017 assembly elections.
