Reeves Confirmed As Batman Voice In ‘..Super Pets’

Los Angeles, March 7 : No sooner did one Batman hit the big screen, another actor has arrived to take the mantle of the Caped Crusader in DC’s upcoming animated superhero film. Earlier it was confirmed that Reeves would be lending his voice in the movie though his role was unspecified, Warner Brothers has now officially confirmed that Reeves will be voicing Batman in the upcoming “DC League of Super Pets”. This is also not the first time that the “Matrix” and “John Wick” star is entering the world of DC, previously starring as John Constantine, an occult detective in the 2005 film “Constantine”.
As of now, Reeves will be the fourth to don the cowl this year, the other three being Robert Pattinson for “The Batman” and Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton who will be reprising their roles as the Dark Knight from “Batman v Superman” and “ Zack Snyder’s Justice League” and “Batman” (1989) respectively in the upcoming “The Flash”. Directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine, “DC League of Super-Pets” centers on Superman’s faithful hound, Krypto the Superdog (Dwayne Johnson), who assembles an ensemble of super powered animals to rescue the Justice League after they’re kidnapped. The voice cast includes Kevin Hart as Ace the Bat-Hound, Vanessa Bayer as a pot-bellied pig called PB, Natasha Lyonne as a turtle called Merton, Diego Luna as a squirrel called Chip, and John Krasinski as a Kryptonian called Kal-El.
Though “The Batman” has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, it has received criticism for its length and for the fact that it is extremely dark, grim, violent and serious for children to enjoy. Therefore making the film on a lighter note “DC League of Super Pets” might be a good way to satisfy the other part of the demograph. In addition, Reeves does have a large fan base and his voice is more than satisfactory to voice Batman. The movie will release on May 20.
