Dehradun, Jan 24: Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party have put their full strength into the Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2022 from last year. At the same time, the nation had suffered the an irreparable loss of 11 associates including CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat in the Coonoor helicopter accident in Tamil Nadu in December- 2021.
CDS Rawat, the valiant martyr originally hails from Uttarakhand. He had a heartfelt wish that he should return to his state after retirement and settle down here. Not only this, CDS Rawat was also getting his house built in Dehradun for this, but due to the sudden accident, all his planning were put to an end with him. At the same time, BJP now wants to keep Rawat’s memory alive in a different way and that is to connect his family with politics.
Although a few days ago, Mr. Colonel Vijay Rawat, brother of General Bipin Rawat, had joined BJP, he is refusing to contest the elections. In such a situation, party sources are telling that BJP has now sent a proposal to contest the elections to the daughters of CDS General Bipin Rawat.
According to party sources, BJP wants to make one of the two daughters of General Rawat its candidate for a seat in Uttarakhand for the 2022 assembly elections, for which the consent of the daughters is awaited.
CDS Rawat has two daughters, of whom the eldest daughter Kritika lives in Mumbai. While the younger daughter Tarini is practicing Law in the Delhi High Court. In such a situation, BJP is waiting that whoever agrees to contest the election, will be fielded. If one of them agrees to join then she can field from Dehradun’s Doiwala or Kotdwar seat. The state BJP has not yet announced the names of its candidates for both these seats. In such a situation, there is a plan to field a family member of General Bipin Rawat in both these military-dominated seats.
On February 14, votes will be cast for the assembly elections in Uttarakhand. Results will come out on March 10 along with the rest of the states. There are a total of 81 lakh 43 thousand 922 voters in Uttarakhand, for whose votes BJP and Congress are the main rival parties in this election.
