At the same time, the nation had suffered the an irreparable loss of 11 associates including CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat in the Coonoor helicopter accident in Tamil Nadu in December- 2021.

CDS Rawat, the valiant martyr originally hails from Uttarakhand. He had a heartfelt wish that he should return to his state after retirement and settle down here. The state BJP has not yet announced the names of its candidates for both these seats. In such a situation, there is a plan to field a family member of General Bipin Rawat in both these military-dominated seats.
