Odisha Govt’s Bonanza: 50% Salary Hikes, Odisha Junior Teachers’ New Year Bumper
Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The Odisha Government on Monday decided to hike the salary of junior teachers, including the contractual lot, engaged in teaching in various primary schools by nearly 50 percent. The salary revision will come to effect from January 1, 2022.
The salary hike decision of junior teachers was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.
As per the statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), at present, the regular junior teachers are getting a salary of Rs. 9,200 which has been hiked to Rs. 13,800. Similarly, the salary of contractual junior teachers has been hiked to Rs. 11,000 from existing Rs. 7,400.
Over 33,000 junior teachers, including 19, 7714 regular and 13, 324 contractual junior teachers will benefit from the State’s latest government decision, the CMO said. The revised hike of the junior teachers’ salary is going to cost Rs. 168 crore more to the State exchequer.
