Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials initiated simultaneous house searches on Thursday at properties associated with Basanta Kumar Mohapatra, the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Boudh district. The searches come in response to allegations of possessing disproportionate assets against Mohapatra.
The coordinated house searches are being conducted by a team comprising two Additional Superintendents of Police (SPs), six Deputy SPs, six Inspectors, and other staff from the Vigilance Department. The searches are authorized by search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. They are being carried out at ten locations across Bhubaneswar (Khurdha), Boudh, and Ganjam districts.
The targeted locations include residential and commercial properties, as well as Mohapatra’s office chamber at the RTO office in Boudh. The search locations are as follows:
- Room No. 307, 3rd floor, Utkal Signature, Pahala, Bhubaneswar.
- Commercial Shopping Complex Nos. 4 & 5, Utkal Kanika Galleria, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
- Flat No. 2504, Block-4, Iconic Tower, Z-1 Estate, Kalarahanga, Bhubaneswar.
- A 3 BHK flat, Flat No. B/83, 8th floor, Utkal Royal Residency, Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar.
- Flat No. A-4/1, West End Apartment, Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
- Flat No. 206, 2nd floor, Block Saraswati, Haripriya Enclave, Ranga Matia, Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar.
- Office chamber of Basanta Kumar Mohapatra at the RTO office, Boudh.
- Rented residential house of Mohapatra at Jagannath Vihar, Rajanpalli, Boudh.
- Paternal house of Mohapatra located at Bhanjanagar.
- House of his relative at Kamapali, Berhampur.
