Woman Presumed Dead Comes ‘Alive’ at Crematorium in Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: A woman in Berhampur, Odisha, was presumed dead by her family members and taken to the crematorium, only to come ‘alive’ and sit up, shocking everyone present.

The woman, identified as K Rajeshwari, wife of Shivaram Pal and resident of Goods Shed road in Berhampur, had suffered burn injuries in an LPG cylinder leak accident at home a month ago. However, her husband chose not to seek medical attention for her and instead arranged for her treatment at home. With no proper medical care, Rajeshwari’s health deteriorated steadily over time.

On Wednesday, when Rajeshwari showed no signs of responsiveness or movement, her family members concluded that she had passed away. Without obtaining a death certificate from a qualified doctor, they proceeded with her funeral arrangements, with the assistance of neighbours and the local corporator.

To the astonishment of everyone present at the crematorium, Rajeshwari regained consciousness and sat up, signaling that she was indeed alive. Promptly, her neighbours rushed her to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for immediate medical attention.

Currently, Rajeshwari is undergoing treatment at the hospital, and her condition remains under medical supervision.
