Bhubaneswar: In a stirring address to his Cabinet, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of Odisha unveiled a vision that he believes will reshape the political landscape of the nation. With Lok Sabha and Assembly elections looming, Patnaik expressed unwavering confidence in the imminent triumphs that await Odisha.
“I always feel profoundly blessed and humbled by the intense faith of the people which also inspires me to work harder,” Patnaik remarked, his words brimming with optimism and determination. “The next 10 years will be decisive for Odisha’s future. We will herald an empowered Odisha – modern, dynamic and responsive – primarily for our youth, women, children, entrepreneurs, farmers, and tribals.”
The Chief Minister proudly proclaimed Odisha as the fastest developing economy in the country, attributing this success to his government’s relentless efforts. He highlighted a significant reduction in multidimensional poverty over the past five years and emphasized Odisha’s top ranking in fiscal management, owing to prudent fiscal practices and robust revenue generation strategies.
“Odisha will emerge as the economic powerhouse of Eastern India,” Patnaik declared, noting the state’s rise to the second position in attracting manufacturing investment nationwide. His address left no stone unturned as he lauded various initiatives, from industrial growth to welfare schemes like the AMA bank scheme and Biju Swasthya Yojana.
Even amidst challenges such as cyclone Fani and the COVID-19 pandemic, Patnaik stressed on his government’s unwavering commitment to public welfare. He highlighted initiatives such as Mission Shakti and the conversion of self-help groups into small and medium enterprises (SMEs), showcasing the state’s progress under his leadership.
Patnaik’s vision extended beyond economic prosperity to encompass social welfare and cultural preservation. He spoke of initiatives to protect tribal languages, support minority communities, and enhance rural connectivity through innovative programs like Laccmi buses.
With an unwavering focus on youth empowerment, Patnaik promised better education, employment opportunities, and a New Odisha that would set benchmarks in every sector.
