Bhubaneswar, May 16: Nanda, a male Kumki elephant of Nandan kanan Zoological Park died in Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife sanctuary on the outskirts of the Capital city Bhubaneswar on the wee hours of Monday.
Sources said Nanda was not well for the last few days and died on Monday. A post-mortem will be conducted to find out the cause behind its death.
Nanda was shifted from Nandan Kanan Zoo to Chandaka in 2010 to control the menace of stray elephants. Nanda was born on November 28,1987 to elephant Basanti at Nandan Kanan zoo.
