India Successfully Test Fires Agni-Prime Ballistic Missile

Bhubaneswar: India has achieved a significant milestone in its defense capabilities with the successful flight test of the new generation ballistic missile Agni-Prime. The test, conducted from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, took place around 7 pm on April 3. The Defence Ministry confirmed that the test met all trial objectives, validating the missile’s reliable performance.

The test’s success was verified through data captured by a multitude of range sensors deployed at various locations, including two downrange ships positioned at the terminal point. The launch was witnessed by esteemed dignitaries, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Strategic Forces Command, and senior officials from DRDO and the Indian Army.

Congratulating DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces for the successful test, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the significance of Agni-Prime’s development and induction. He hailed it as an excellent force multiplier for the Armed Forces, enhancing India’s defense capabilities.

Chairman DRDO Samir V Kamat lauded the efforts of SFC and DRDO for the successful flight test. The Agni-Prime ballistic missile represents a remarkable advancement in India’s indigenous missile technology, further bolstering the nation’s defense capabilities.

The successful test of Agni-Prime underscores India’s commitment to strengthening its defense infrastructure and maintaining readiness to safeguard its sovereignty and national security.
