Maldives Envoy Exits Meeting in Less Than 5 Minutes

Short Duration Inside South Block Sparks Questions About Discussion Topics

National: Ibrahim Shaheeb, the Maldives Envoy, visited the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in Delhi’s South Block on Monday, triggering curiosity amid the ongoing row over a Maldives MP’s social media post regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep. The MEA had expressed strong concern about statements made by several Maldivian ministers on social media targeting PM Modi.

The visit, captured in a video shared by ANI, showed Ibrahim Shaheeb arriving at the MEA building at 9:35 am and departing within a remarkably short duration, by 9:40 am. This swift meeting has led to questions and speculation about the topics discussed during the envoy’s brief visit.

While the FPJ has not independently verified the exact duration of the Maldives envoy’s stay at the MEA, the footage has piqued the interest of social media users, who are eager to understand the nature of the discussions that took place.

In the backdrop of the controversy, official sources revealed that the Indian High Commission in Male had lodged strong objections on the matter with the Maldivian Foreign Ministry on the preceding Sunday. The disagreement stems from the statements made by Maldivian ministers against PM Modi, adding an extra layer of significance to the brief visit by Ibrahim Shaheeb to the MEA in South Block.

As the situation continues to unfold, the reasons behind the envoy’s quick visit and the potential outcomes of the discussions remain subjects of intrigue and speculation.
