JSW Foundation Inaugurates First Trauma Care Center in Jharsuguda, Western Odisha

Bhubaneswar: JSW Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative under JSW BPSL Sambalpur Works, unveiled a Trauma Care Center at the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), Jharsuguda. This marks the inception of the first Trauma Care Center in District Headquarters Hospitals across Western Odisha, achieved through a collaborative effort between JSW Foundation and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Sunday, was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Anil Kumar Singh, President & Whole Time Director of JSW BPSL; Aboli Sunil Naravane, Collector & District Magistrate, Jharsuguda; Deepali Das, MLA, Jharsuguda; Parmar Smit Parshottam Das, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda; and Dr. Mahesh Mohan Panda, CDM & PHO, Jharsuguda.

The Trauma Care Facility, equipped with 10 beds, stands as a significant stride in mitigating the impact of road accidents in the region. By ensuring prompt and expert care for accident victims, the initiative not only endeavors to save lives but also aims to mitigate the severity of injuries sustained during such incidents.

The newly established Trauma Care Center boasts an advanced Modular Operation Theatre along with other state-of-the-art medical equipment including ultrasound, CR system, Anesthesia machine, Digital X-ray, among others, coupled with necessary civil works to facilitate immediate and efficient care for trauma patients.

Anil Kumar Singh, speaking at the event, emphasized the paramount importance of healthcare services and expressed optimism that the Trauma Care Center would serve as a beacon of hope for the people of Jharsuguda and neighboring regions. He also acknowledged the initiation of the Trauma Care Center 1.5 years ago, following discussions with the Late Naba Kishore Das, former Health and Family Welfare Minister of Odisha, expressing great satisfaction that his daughter Deepali Das, MLA, Jharsuguda, inaugurated the setup.

Aboli Sunil Naravane extended gratitude to JSW Foundation for their generous contribution and underscored the potential impact of such CSR initiatives in fortifying public healthcare infrastructure.

Deepali Das lauded the efforts of JSW Foundation and JSW BPSL Sambalpur Works for their steadfast support towards societal betterment. Dr. Mahesh Mohan Panda highlighted the collaborative efforts between the CSR Team of JSW BPSL and District Administration, resulting in the development of the first Trauma Care Center in any District Hospital of Western Odisha.

The Department of Health and Family Welfare is set to provide an anaesthetist, orthopaedic specialist, General Surgeon, Nursing Officers, and OT Technicians to operationalize the Trauma Care Center, promising a safer and healthier future for Jharsuguda residents.
