Western Disturbance Likely To Trigger Rain In Odisha Again; heavy rain alert
After a lull for two days, the IMD has predicted that a fresh disturbance will be forecast to bring rain in different parts of Odisha from March 26.
The MeT office has also issued yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning issued for Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds blowing at 30 kmph to 40 kmph are likely to occur at several places in Odisha’s Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur on March 26.
The intensity of rain is expected to increase from March 27, the weather office forecast, adding that 11 coastal districts will be affected on March 11. One or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj will witness thunderstorm with lightening and gusty surface wind reaching 30-40 kmph.
Many places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts will experience light to moderate rain or thundershower.
As per the IMD forecast, lightning and thundershowers in the afternoon. The rains will continue for the next three to four days under the influence of Kala Baisakhi.
