Four Jumbos Stray Into Sikharchandi Hill In Odisha Capital, Panic Spreads

After brief gap, as many as four elephants have been spotted on the Sikharchandi hill of Bhubaneswar on Friday.

According to reliable reports, the matter came to the fore after some locals spotted the elephants and immediately alerted the forest department about the same. Along with the tusker, there are two female elephants and a calf.

Notably, around a week ago, an elephant had reached the hill and got stuck there for hours while a fire broke out in the area and kept on spreading. Later, forest officials had managed to drive away the animal and push it into the forest.

Sources said, a herd of four elephants is moving on Sikharchandi hill, triggering panic in the area. On being informed, forest official have rushed to the spot and keeping close watch on them. The jumbos are stated to have strayed into the area from the nearby Bharatpur forest.
