Weather Upadate: Thunderstorm likely on April 7: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here today said that thunderstorms is likely in several parts of Odisha during the next three days.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the district of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada, while and dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha from Monday to Wednesday.

The maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2°C-4°C during the next two days and no large change thereafter at many places over Odisha. The maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 36°C and 23°C respectively.

The forecast for Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood will experience mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm has occurred at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha and Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Nabarangpur and Sambalpur districts during the past 24 hours. Dense fog has occurred at one or two places over Khurda and Dhenkanal.

The chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are Balasore 2 cm, Padmapur (Rayagada) 2 cm, Mahendragarh (Gajapati) 1 cm, Tangi (Khurda) 1 cm, Remuna (Balasore) 1 cm, Udala (Mayurbhanj) 1 cm, Bhubaneswar Aero (Khurda) 1 cm and Kodala (Ganjam) 1 cm.

The highest maximum temperature of 36.5°C was recorded at Malkangiri and Titlagarh and the lowest minimum temperature of 17.0°C was recorded at Jagatsinghpur in the plains of Odisha.
