Bhubaneswar, May 27: A team of STF has arrested two drug peddlers from Nayagarha district and seized more than 106 kg of ganja, a car and other incriminating materials from their possession.
STF sources here on Saturday said on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, BBSR on Friday with the help of Nayagarh District Police at Itamati under Itamati Police station and arrested two drug peddlers.
STF identified the accused as Jugal Nayak, (29 ) of Bandhagad village under Phiringia, Police station of Kandhamal district and Ranjit Bhoi, (24 ) of Phulbani Sahi, under Phulbani, Police station of Kandhamal district.During search Ganja more than 106 kg, one Car and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession.
A case has been registered at Itamati Police Station for necessary legal action. Investigation is on.
Since special drive against narcotic drugs started in 2020, STF has seized more than 69 kg of Brown sugar, 202 gm cocaine and more than 114 quintals of Ganja, 750 gm of opium and arrested more than 171 drug peddlers.
