Bhawanipatna: In a ghastly incident, three minor girls were reportedly gang-raped by five youths in Kandhamal district on the wee hours of Thursday.
The ghastly act occurred in a village under Bijepur police station limits in Kalahandi district.
According to information received from the area, the incident took place when three minor girls were returning home after watching jatra late on Wednesday night.
The matter came to the fore after family members of the girls lodged a complaint with the Bijepur police this morning. While the girls were sent for medical examination, a hunt has been launched to trace the accused persons.
Acting on the complaint, the Bijepur police have registered a case and started investigation. No arrest was made till the last report came in.
