A fantastic, ambitious 3000-square foot area has been provided by BMC and Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited on the first floor of the IPSC Building, Saheed Nagar.

Over 1000 youth will be affected throughout the initiative’s initial year. Technical skills, life skills, job competencies, and continuous mentoring are all provided by this initiative. It is an all-encompassing development programme that acknowledges the numerous vulnerabilities of youth who are underprivileged.

Young people between the ages of 18 to 35 will be enrolled in the programme. Free short-term programmes will be offered in the healthcare, e-commerce, retail, banking, finance, and insurance sales, information technology, and beauty and wellness industries. The Lighthouse initiative will have an annual impact on 3000 youth in the scaled scenario.

Four training rooms, a counselling room, a broadcasting unit, a space for video conferencing, and a fully furnished tech centre with PCs and Wi-Fi are all included in the Lighthouse Skill development centre.

About 1000 young people from low-income communities around Saheed Nagar, Anugul, and Barbil will get technical training, life skills, and access to employment possibilities every year.

Addressing the gathering, Usha Devi stated that the programme is crucial for the state of Odisha’s underprivileged youth and that in the coming years, it should reach youth in several of the state’s cities.

Principal Secretary I&PR and CMD of BSCL Sanjay Kumar Singh said that by introducing learning spaces closer to their homes, the initiative would enable us to reach out to underprivileged communities. We assume responsibility for providing students with the greatest skill-building opportunities and preparing them with marketable talents.

According to Shallu Jindal, the JSPL Foundation is dedicated to developing the Lighthouse programme, which is founded on a solid model of private-public partnership and has a special programme structure that directs underprivileged youngsters on a road to success.

This initiative would be expanded in the remaining urban areas of Odisha in the coming days.
