Rourkela, Apr 6 (PTI) Odisha Police busted an IPL betting racket in Rourkela steel city and arrested six persons in connection with it, a police official said on Thursday. .
The six were arrested in a police raid at a house in the city’s civil township area on Wednesday night after receiving information about the racket, the official said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the area and arrested the six accused who had reportedly taken the house on rent to carry out the illegal activity. “They betted with the help of a website. The investigation is underway to trace the accused’s local contacts,” police said.
The cops also seized three laptops, 20 mobile phones, and four ATM cards from the accused.
Further investigation is underway.
