Orissa HC nullifies 2022 ASO merit list, asks OPSC to publish fresh list

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has scrapped the merit list of the examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for recruitment of 796 Assistant Section Officers.

According to the information, a writ petition was filed at the High Court seeking scrapping of the merit list published by the OPSC. The merit list was published by the OPSC for 796 ASO posts.

Hearing the petition that alleged irregularities in the examination, the High Court asked the Commission to publish a fresh merit list in two months’ time based on the notification issued in 2016.

The recruitment exam was conducted on 27 August 2022 while the results were declared on 7 November 2022.

At least 20 unsuccessful aspirants, alleging irregularities in evaluations, had then approached the High Court seeking judicial intervention. Following which, the OPSC clarified that the answer keys, cut-off marks and individual candidates’ marks will be published on the official website after the publication of the final results.
