Nowcast: Intense Rain, Hailstorm & Squall@50Kmph To Hit Odisha Today
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for four districts of Odisha till 1 pm on Monday.
The thunderstorms with gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph, hail, and moderate to intense rain likely to affect some parts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts of Odisha in the next three hours.
Notably, Odisha has been experience an increase in thunderstorm activity with lightning accompanied by rain, isolated hail, heavy rain and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph under the influence of a western disturbance.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places protect from lightning strike.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms and rain have brought down the temperature below 40°C under the influence of westerlies. The IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to drop by 2°C to 3°C in the next few days.
