Jr Clerk Caught Red-Handed While Accepting Bribe In Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Odisha Vigilance officials have arrested a dealing assistant (junior clerk) at Pattamundai Block Education Officer’s office in Kendrapara for accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.

The accused has been identified as Manas Dhal.

According to sources, Dhal was taking Rs 10,000 bribe to clear the drawl of the teacher’s arrear salary pending more than a year.The Vigilance has also recovered the entire bribe money from the accused Odisha government officials.

Following a complaint by the teacher, the Vigilance officials set up a trap to nab Dhala red-handed. Simultaneous searches are underway at two locations related to Dhala from the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A case (No 9/2023) under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, has been registered in this connection at the Cuttack Vigilance police station. Further investigation is in progress against the accused Dhala.
