Dhaba owner shot dead over suspected past enmity, another critical
One person was shot dead while another sustained critical injuries inside a dhaba near Malda Dharamkanta area under Koida police limits in Sundargarh district on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Chatamba, owner of the roadside eatery. The injured was identified as Ram Purti.
Both sustained bullet injuries and fell unconscious on the spot. The attackers fled the place after committing the act.
Locals rescued the two victims and rushed the duo to Joda Hospital, where Ram was declared dead. As Ramesh’s condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Though the exact reason behind the attack is not clear, it is believed that it might be the fallout of past enmity.
On being informed about the incident, Koida police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
