COVID-19 Surge: Odisha Govt Makes Face Masks Mandatory In Hospitals

Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising positive cases of COVID-19 in the country and Odisha, , the Odisha government today made the usage of masks mandatory in certain institutions.

In an official order, Niranjan Mishra, director, Public Health, said it has been decided to make wearing masks mandatory by the employees in health institutions to ensure COVID appropriate behaviour.

Taking to its Twitter handle, the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department wrote, “As #COVID19 cases are witnessing a surge across the Country and State, #Odisha Government has decided to enforce usage of masks in @HFWOdisha (all health institutions). All healthcare providers, officials and persons providing laboratory services etc must wear masks. #OdishaCares.”

“If you experience symptoms like cold, cough, fever and sore throat etc then isolate yourself and go for the COVID-19 test. Wear a facemask properly whenever you go outside, avoid crowded places and maintain hand hygiene to protect yourself from coronavirus,” the H&FW department earlier advised.
