Acting on complaints of amassment of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by Ajay Senapati, Assistant Engineer, Works Department-2, Balasore, vigilance officers started conducting raids on his houses and office room at different places this morning.
The raid was conducted  by the Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 2 Sub-inspectors and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar at the following 7 places in Puri, Balasore and Khurdha districts.
Raid is being performed at
1. Residential home of Sri Ajay Kumar Senapati positioned at Madanmohan Lane, Damodar Road, Harichandisahi, Puri.
2. Flat No. 2063 positioned at 2nd ground of Ananya Palm Beach, Puri,
3. The authorities residential quarter of Sri Senapati positioned at Balasore.
4. The workplace room of Sri Senapati positioned at O/O Executive Engineer (R & B) Division-II, Balasore
5. Double storeyed constructing positioned at Kulakandhei Balugaon, Dist- Khurdha.
6. The parental home of Sri Senapati positioned at Bhagabati Sahi, Banpur, Dist- Khurdha.
7. House of relative of Sri Senapati at Tangi Dist-Khurdha.
The raid continues to be underway.
Latest reports said the officers have seized some important documents relating to landed property and bank accounts so far. Raids are likely to continue till afternoon when details about the assets possessed by Senapati and his family members would be known.
