Is there a cause for concern that the ensuing Valentine’s Day has come near on the calendar. That is on Feb 14. Yes, some do apprehend that, it can or may unleash a fear of sexually transmitted diseases(STD).

And believe it that Indonesia has launched a massive awareness campaign and has plans to distribute over 95 million condoms free of cost both to promote sex and prevent the spread of STD.

But, as it stands, one needs to have a ‘gold card’ for availing the free supply so that gets at-least ten condoms a week and that too for one year. The  main objective programme is to prevent teen pregnancies, cervical cancer, and STDs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, AIDS, etc.

According to the  WHO, 24.4 percent of girls aged 15-19 years in Thailand gave birth to one out of every 1000 babies in the country in 2021. Not just that, STDs have also been on a rise in the country.
