Odisha: I.N.D.I.A organizes protest demonstration in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Dec 22 : The alliance partners of Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) organized a protest demonstration here on Friday demanding immediate

lifting of suspension of 146 MPs during the just concluded session of Parliament.

The Political parties affiliated to the I.N.D.I.A carrying placards and shouting slogans marched in

a procession on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the Master Canteen area in protest against what they alleged was the dictatorial attitude of the Modi government.

Several opposition political leaders also courted arrest during the protest, the Congress sources here said.

The agitators said in the Indian constitution Parliament is the highest democratic institution and It is the democratic and constitutional rights of the opposition to protest.

But the Modi government, they said, violating all rules and regulations have suspended 146 MPs using the Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman.

Stating that Modi government has crossed all limits of intolerance, they said the NDA government will pay a heavy price for such undemocratic action and demanded to lift the suspension order on MPs immediately.

Top state leaders of Congress, CPI, CPI-M, CPI ML(liberation) All India Forward Block,AAP, SP,NCP, RJD, CPIML (Red Star) JMM, Samata Kanti Dal, and Samruddha Odisha participated in the protest.

The MPs were suspended after they rushed to the well of the house and disrupted the proceedings demanding a statement either by the Union Home Minister or by the Prime Minister on the issue of Parliament security breach.
