Odisha : Bhitarkanika Forest officials rescue crocodile from pond

Kendrapara (Odisha), Oct 18 : The forest personnel of Bhitarkanika National park on Wednesday rescued a 5.3 feet long female Saltwater crocodile from the pond in Bankuala village located near the Bhitarkanika National park.
Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary Ranger Manas Kumar Das said the crocodile was rescued from the pond of one Sumitra Rout.
The locals spotted the reptile in the pond and informed the forest personnel of Bhitarkanika National park.
A forest team led by Jasobanta Behera rushed to the spot, managed to rescue the reptile and later released it in Bhitarkanika river, Das said.
