According to a newspaper report that has accessed into the charge sheet filed by the Delhi police, now the former WFI chief Brij Bhushan appear on a very slippery ground and the charge sheet contains charges as per many witnesses there is any way out.

They are so shocking and flabbergasting as well. Yet Brij Bhshan enoys the lease of a bail and not in the jail instead.

How is he on bail?

The details of charges are indeed shocking and disturbing that hardly can stand the judicial scrutiny. He is “liable to be prosecuted and punished for offences” of sexual harassment, molestation, and stalking, based on the complaints of six wrestlers, and witness testimonies, reported The Indian Express.

Going by the 1,500-page charge sheet, filed at the Rouse Avenue Court on 15 June, charged Singh under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354 A (sexual harassment), and 354 D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code.

It further states that the “accused may please be summoned to face trial and witnesses named in the list of witnesses appended with the chargesheet may be called for their examination along with documents mentioned with their names.”

Not one or two but the Delhi police spoke to 108 witnesses and 15 of them reportedly corroborated the wrestlers’ allegations against Singh.

Sordid & Shocking

The chargesheet contains 15 alleged incidents of sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation by Singh. It also contains corroborative statements by witnesses, as per the newspaper. In one of the cases, the harassment was “repeated and continuing,” the chargesheet said.

One of the complainants accused Singh of placing his hand on her breast, groping her, and sliding his hand down to her stomach repeatedly when they were out for dinner at a hotel. He touched her inappropriately at the WFI office as well.

Another accused him of pulling up her t-shirt while lying down on a mat and placing his hand on her breasts on the pretext of checking her breathing. He also tried to make “forceful physical contact” with her at the WFI office.

Singh allegedly tried to forcefully hug one of the complainants and told her he would buy her supplements in exchange for sexual favours.

He allegedly slid his hand down a complainant’s stomach to “check her breathing.”

What else the law requires as an evidence that has surfaced already? Includes photographs of him making advances towards a complainant.

According to the chargesheet, WFI officials submitted four photographs of the WFI chief and a complainant in Kazakhstan, and in two of the photographs, “he is seen making advances towards the complainant,” the chargesheet states, as per The  Indian Express.

Brij vs Sisodia(Compulsion vs vengeance)

Bails now seems more on the judiciary’s discretion than on the evidences so the former WFI chief in still left relaxing in his den whereas a man like Manish Sisodia, former Delhi Chief minister is to languish in the jail regardless of the fact that so far there is no concrete evidence to say that he is in possession of such a huge wealth.

Two things look clear. In one the political compulsion to still discover lee ways for Brij and in the other case(Sisodia) that may be political vengeance. Else the four month long incarceration is enough for a punishment and he could have been tried being out of the cells.
