Governor not signing file for holding Bengal assembly session : Mamata

Kolkata, July 21 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday charged Governor CV Ananda Bose for not signing the file sent to the Raj Bhawan for his approval of holding the monsoon session of the state legislative assembly.
The Mamata Banerjee government was planning to begin the monsoon session on July 24 and for this the file was sent to the Raj Bhawan for his sanction, which was not signed yet.
Sources said the Governor had questioned why such an important file was sent in such a short notice and had reportedly called state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shobhandeb Chatterjee to meet him immediately.
The concerned minister was out of station and hence Chief Secretary or the Home Secretary was called by Bose, leading to uncertainty over starting of the monsoon session.
“Our Federal structure has been bulldozed. The Governor is not signing and allowing the assembly to start also,” Banerjee reiterated.
She said her request to visit Manipur was not yet cleared by the union government.
“I want to visit Manipur but no such permission I got so far,” Mamata told newspersons.
The Chief Minister said all the political leaders should visit that state and take stock of the situation.
