Bhubaneswar, Nov 9 : Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested Superintending Engineer Buiswabandhu Panigrahi for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 338 percent of his known sources of income.
Vigilance sources here said Panigrahi , the SE in the office of Engineer -in-Chief PH Division, Bhubaneswar, was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar .
A case was registered against Panigrahi, and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 P.C. Amendment Act, 2018.
During house searches, movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Panigrahi and his family members.
The properties unearthed included Agreement made with Assotech and advance Rs. 39 Lakh paid by Panigrahi to purchase a Flat in name of his spouse in Bhubaneswar.
One single storied building at Bhadrak, six plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and Bhadrak were also unearthed.
Vigilance sources said Postal & Insurance deposits worth Rs.4.02 crore., Rs.3,18,000 in cash, approximately 421 grams of gold jewellery and household articles worth approx Rs.17 Lakh were also found during the search operation.
