CPI calls for ousting BJP from power to save country ‘democratic values were being trampled’

Patna, June 24 : General Secretary of CPI D Raja on Saturday made a clarion call to oust BJP government from the power at the Centre in next Lok Sabha elections, saying democratic values were being trampled under the present regime.

Raja told media persons here that BJP government at the Centre had no respect for the democratic values and provisions made in constitution to run the country properly for fulfilling aspirations of the common man. Democracy, Constitution and the Country itself were under serious threat due to dictatorial attitude of the government, he added.

CPI leader said that Public Sector Undertakings were being privatised by the government and people were losing their jobs. A select corporate houses were being given undue favour by the government, he alleged.

Raja said that public money was pumped into Adani group of companies through Banks and LIC violating all norms, causing huge losses to the common man. Opposition had demanded thorough inquiry by Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into irregularities committed in Adani group of companies, getting huge loans from LIC and Banks but the government did not accept the demand, he added.

CPI leader said in prevailing scenario of the country, it was important to oust BJP from power in next Lok Sabha elections. At the initiative of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, top leaders of 15 opposition parties across the country had participated in meeting on June 23 in Patna to find ways to fight unitedly against BJP to save democracy and the country, he added.

D Raja said that a consensus had reached in opposition meeting to fight unitedly against BJP in Lok Sabha elections. Next such meeting would be held in Shimla in first fortnight of July to fine tune the strategy, he added.

State Secretary of CPI Ram Naresh Pandey said that party had decided to hold a massive rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 2 this year. A strong message would emerge from the rally to oust BJP government from the power, he added.
