If for anything the ‘Sarkar’ gives sloganeering for ‘One’, then why this dystepic divide in the line of castes which had led to the tragic death by suicide of a IIT student, who was reportedly a ‘brilliant’ student.

This happens at the high-end educational hubs like IIT and for once our political system is also responsible  indisputably.

Caste, caste and castes are now the buzz around in politics. Caste-based reservation to caste-based census, such buzzes somehow get sieved down to the psyche of younger ones and the end result is somewhere pensive.

Darshan Sholanki, who prepared for the JEE without coaching, has committed suicide for being taunted and jeered by others that, he blonged to a lower caste.

After coming to IIT-B things changed for him and he could not take the taunts longer and singed within a sense of frustration but hardly one could make out that such complexes can mature to become suicidal, which happened with Darshan.

The institute cannot absolve itself of the responsibility that Darshan died for that reason and took the extreme step at the age of 18. Just months have passed he had joined IIT-Bombay.

No one can digest such taunts and for Darshan may be it was too much and why the issue remained away from the authorities and in such case, when counselings are more important.

Ambedkar Phule Periyar Study Circle (APPSC) had alleged that Solanki’s death was “an institutional murder” although the IIT-B has issued statements strongly refuting that caste factor could be a reason.

His uncle claimed that his nephew spoke to his parents via video call barely an hour he died, allegedly by suicide. “He was very happy. He said that his exams had concluded and that he was going out with friends. He died by suicide on Feb 12.
