Forgery Fallout: Four Government School Teachers in Puri Dismissed Over Fake Certificates

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha state government has taken strict action against fraudulent practices within its education system. The services of four government school teachers in the Puri district have been terminated after they were found guilty of submitting fake educational certificates to secure their jobs. The teachers were employed in various schools within the Krushnaprasad block of Puri district.

The terminated teachers have been identified as Satyasundar Biswal of Jharisahi School, Suresh Chandra Palai of Biripadar School, Soudamini Pradhan of Ora School, and Nanda Kishore Sethy of Charchika School.

The investigation into this fraudulent activity was initiated by the Puri District Education Officer (DEO) following complaints against the teachers. The DEO, upon verification, discovered that three of the teachers had submitted fake Bachelor of Education (BEd) certificates, while the graduation certificate of another teacher was also found to be forged.

The gravity of the situation prompted the DEO to refer the matter to the state Crime Branch for further investigation and necessary legal action. The termination of services serves as a stern warning against malpractices in the recruitment process and underscores the government’s dedication to upholding educational standards.
