Bhubaneswar, Dec 9 : Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed surprise over the media reports about the seizure of hundreds of crores of unaccounted money by the Income Tax Department in Odisha during the last few days.

It is a matter of concern that such a large amount of benami money has been seized simultaneously from states like Odisha by the central agency.
As per the media reports, some people from Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand states have links with the money, he said.
Pradhan said such an incident has never been seen in Odisha and has surprised everyone.
He wanted to know the source of this unaccounted wealth? What is the truth of the matter? Whether some people with vested interests have any relation with the black money.
Why are people talking big things about honesty and keeping mum over the issue?
Pradhan said the silence of some political leaders over the issue has created suspicion in the minds of the people.
The political party to which the person involved in this incident belongs is reportedly shedding crocodile tears of honesty in the country and has no answer to the questions asked by the media.
Now the people of the country, including Odisha, are counting on Modi’s guarantee; he said adding corruption will not be allowed in the Modi government.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the looted money will be recovered from the public one by one, and strict action will be taken against those involved in the incident, this is Modi’s guarantee, Pradhan said.
