Strange mystery behind that three gangsters came in the guise of journalist and shot Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf point blank and their intention was to replace a gangster mafia.
That was one interpretation of UP police.
 All in the presence of the presence of a huge police contingent, press, and electronic media brings the spotlight back to questions regarding security and protection — a legal right that both the deceased were entitled to.
Given that security was provided in the police station where they were being interrogated and effective barriers were in place to ward off unwanted or nosy agents, the breach remains unexplained.
Such deadly two gangsters how could they be exposed to laxity in both sides. UP police is morally bound to answer.
It was also rare that two accused were given the freedom to address a Press meet and that too in an free for all location in a Medical college. Was the security so helpless that they could not overpower the three killers? That too with three deadly weapons. Were they all with blinkers on!
Then the blame game and the focus is on obviously the police and till the action is taken the issue may die down.
It has also been reported that of the three assailants, one of them is a druggie and the other associated with the noted gangster Sundar Bhati. They do not belong to an affluent class either to have procured weapons that are both exclusive and expensive. Even the two-wheelers and the fake press IDs are cost-intensive. This leads to the second question, who’s financing them?
Further confusion is who were reportedly shouting slogans Jai Shri Ram when the murder was being committed.
Or was it a ploy to confuse the entire issue through a communal prism that may lead to a frenzy over religion.
But the issue is a probe is required to nab such elements who did that.
